ALCATEL ONETOUCH PIXI 3 (3.5) hits UK, budget KitKat

Low cost Android smartphones are becoming big business and one of the markets leading companies in this field is ALCATEL, and now the ONETOUCH PIXI 3 (3.5) hits the UK providing consumers with a budget Android KitKat handset.

A few months ago we reviewed the impressive ALCATEL ONETOUCH POP D5, and now the company has launched the ONETOUCH PIXI 3 (3.5) which can be picked up from Sainsbury stores across the country for only £20.

The handset will be ideal for those that want something less loaded with features while still delivering the important things from a smartphone, and in a smaller package. The PIXI 3 has a 3.5-inch HVGA resolution display (320 x 480), which is powered by a Mediatek MT6572M dual core processor running at a 1GHz clock speed.

This is paired with 512MB of DDR3 RAM running the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. There is 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card and comes pre-loaded with a number of popular applications including Facebook and WhatsApp.

Keeping everything going is a 1,300 mAh Li-ion battery that promises up to 6.5 hours of 3G talk time, or 325 hours of standby.

There is only a 2-megapixel rear camera with a VGA unit around the front, which isn’t bad considering many low budget handsets on Android only have a rear shooter. Hit the Sainsbury’s website for more information or click here.
