Galaxy S3 and Note 2 Jelly Bean 4.2.2 update may release soon
Samsung may be pretty busy at the moment expanding its range of Galaxy S4 hardware but there are still plenty of people that still own and enjoy the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2, and it seems that owners of these devices will soon be treated to the Android 4.2.2. Jelly Bean update.
The two flagship Samsung smartphones from last year are currently sitting on the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware, but if a recent tweet is to be believed they could soon be treated to the later version of Jelly Bean.
SamMobile that can often provide accurate information about all things Samsung took to its Twitter account last month to suggest that during the month of June the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 would start to see Android 4.2.2.
Obviously if this is accurate not all owners of the two handsets would see the update straight away as the manufacturer may release the new firmware, but it would then be down to individual carriers to push the new software out to its customers. This can sometimes take a number of months but usually owners of unlocked versions of smartphones will see the software almost straight away.
There has been talk recently that yet another version of Jelly Bean is in the pipeline and this will be released before the next major update to the operating system that will supposedly be Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.
