Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update released with S4 features
Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 have seen their handset sitting on the 4.1.2 version of the Android operating system for a while now, but at last the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update gets a release that brings some Galaxy S4 features.
It is being reported that the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update has begun its journey around the world to end users, and is currently reaching owners of the device in Ireland. As with any Android update it is being rolled out in a staggered fashion and will often take longer to reach carrier branded versions of the handset.
The new firmware is bringing with it a number of changes that includes the option of moving apps to the SD card, while others include a new Samsung keyboard, TRIM Support, Daydream, Galaxy S4 UI, more options in the Notification Centre, Voice controls, updated GPU drivers, and new screen modes from the S4.
There is also support for the wearable Galaxy Gear and a new lockscreen brings multiple widgets as well as an improved ripple effect, and users will also now have the option of changing the clock size and setting a personal message.
Don’t worry if you haven’t received the notification for the availability of the update yet as it will take a while to reach everyone, but you can check manually by going to the handset setting option before selecting About device > Software update > and then Check for updates. You can also connect the handset to the Samsung KIES desktop application.
Now this software has been released the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is expected to receive it in the coming weeks.
