Galaxy S6 Marshmallow UK update lands

A few weeks ago Samsung launched its latest flagship smartphone in the form of the S7, but the company hasn’t forgotten about last year’s handset as the Galaxy S6 Marshmallow UK update lands.

Samsung is currently rolling out the Android Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge and the software has arrived for my unlocked version of the device in the UK. Like any software update it can take a while to hit all devices with carrier versions taking longer for the various add-ons companies put onto the handset.

You can check to see if your handset is ready to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow by selecting settings and scrolling down to About Device and checking for software updates. The new firmware weighs in at a hefty 1.2GB in size so make sure you are downloading it via a Wi-Fi connection.

There are a number of changes that include the Fingerprint Scanner along with other TouchWiz interface adjustments along with more convenient quick toggles, and of course there are a number of new Android features.

Have you received the update yet?
