HTC One M9 officially unveiled
The smartphone world has just seen the first big flagship handset officially unveiled in the form of the HTC One M9, which comes a couple of hours before rival Samsung does its own thing with the Galaxy S6.
As you can see the design language is consistent with the company’s re-launch that begun in 2013 with the M7, but the handset has seen some noticeable tweaks to its design. The HTC One M9 still uses a 5-inch Full HD display that is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Octa core processor that is coupled with 3GB of RAM.
It still has the twin BoomSound speaker set up but the M9 now has Dolby 5.1 surround sound, which does seem a little ambitious for a smartphone. Internal storage is set at 32GB which can be expanded by microSD card.
The camera set up has gone the more traditional route ditching the Duo camera set up of last year, and instead has a 20-megapixel shooter using a Sony sensor protected by Sapphire Glass with a dual LED flash.
On the front is the 4-Ultrapixel camera that is found on the back of the original HTC One with the new handset measuring 144.2mm x 69.3mm x 9.6mm, and the company has said the M9 will be available later this month in many regions although no pricing has been revealed.
