iOS 6.1 3G & battery life problems for iPhone 4S
Less than two weeks ago Apple released the iOS 6.1 firmware update to users of its mobile devices, but it seems some users may be experiencing a few issues as owners of the iPhone 4S are reporting problems with the 3G signal after the upgrade.
Apple released the iOS 6.1 firmware update to fix some other issues and bugs, but a number of issues have now been reported by iPhone 4S users that include battery drain, overheating, and patchy 3G performance.
This has led Vodafone UK to advise customers not to upgrade to the later software if they haven’t already done so, with owners saying that the smartphone has intermittent problems when making calls, sending messages, and browsing the Internet.
There are also a number of other support threads with owners of various iPhone models reporting issues with battery drain, with one owner of the iPhone 5 saying that the handset lost a charge of 35% overnight.
Vodafone meanwhile has stated that Apple is aware of the 3G issues and is currently working on a fix, but couldn’t provide a timeframe for its release. Apple has recently released iOS 6.1.1 to developers for testing so hopefully a fix for these issues won’t be too long in coming forward.
Have you had any issues with your iPhone since updating to iOS 6.1?
