iOS text bug worsens

We reported yesterday about an issue that has been crashing user’s iPhone’s and making the devices reboot with no reason, and now the iOS text bug worsens for many owners of Apple’s smartphone.

It has now been discovered that the iOS bug that was causing handsets to crash via a text message containing a specific string of symbols and characters has now spread to both the Snapchat and Twitter applications.

The Guardian are reporting that third party applications are suffering from the bug, and with Twitter if users have notifications switched on it can cause the handset to crash straight away. Snapchat is having similar issues once a user goes to read the message that may contain the offending code.

Apple is aware of the issue and is currently working on a fix, but in the meantime a user can turn to Siri to reply to the malicious message thread in order to prevent the Messages application from crashing every time it is started.

Have you been affected by this iOS bug?
