iPhone 8 possible leak gives design clue
Samsung has already released it latest flagship smartphone to the market but it will probably be a few months yet before iPhone fans get to see what the future holds officially, but now a possible leak has given us a clue of the iPhone 8 design.
The rumours this year have indicated that we will see a brand new design for the iPhone 8 with a much improved screen-to-body ratio, even greater than the Samsung Galaxy S8 at 83%. If true to achieve this the company would have to remove the Home button that will also mean a new way to offer its Touch ID feature.
Numerous patents over the last few years has shown the company is trying to embed this feature into the handsets display, but so far it remains to be seen how successful Apple has been with this.
The image that you can see on this page comes from reliable tipster OnLeaks that is supposedly of the iPhone 8, and as you can see there doesn’t seem to be any fingerprint reader on the back of the handset.
This could mean that Apple has successfully come up with a way to embed the Touch ID fingerprint scanner into the smartphones display, but other reports have said the scanner will be on the rear of the device.
There has also been talk that manufacturing issues with the sensor embedded in the display will delay the iPhone 8 release by a month or two. The source does mention that there is no way he can confirm whether or not the images are legitimate but as always we will have to wait until Tim Cook walks out on stage with the new device in his hand come September.
