iPhone crash problem via text message

The iOS 8 operating system has had a number of issues since it was first released last year, but now a new bug is causing an iPhone crash problem via a text message.

Many iPhone users are finding that the Messages app is crashing or the handset is rebooting for no reason and the cause behind this is an iOS bug that is doing the rounds. The bug is being set off by a line of text that contains a string of symbols and Arabic characters.

This will cause the handset to crash and reboot and the bug is limited to iPhone to iPhone communication, and will crash the handset when it is on the lockscreen. To get around the issue is to get the person who sent the original text to send another, as it will cancel it out.

Or you can get Siri to send you a message and Apple have commented on the matter and said engineers are currently working on a permanent fix.

Have you had this problem?
