New Nokia 3310 gets UK price and release date
A number of people have a soft spot for nostalgia that comes in many forms, which now includes the mobile phone world as the new Nokia 3310 gets a UK price and release date for 2017.
It was back in February that HMD Global confirmed earlier rumors that the company was rebooting the iconic Nokia 3310, and now the company has confirmed that the new version of the handset will be available to UK consumers from May 24th.
The unlocked version of the handset will cost those wanting a bit of nostalgia £49.99 and will be available from a number of retailers that includes the likes of the Carphone Warehouse, Vodafone, and EE. Three and O2 have both said they have no plans to offer the feature phone.
This new version will offer owners 22 hours of talk time from a single charge and the original 84 x 84 monochrome display has been replaced by a 2.4-inch colour screen, and will be available in Glossy Red, Glossy Yellow, Matte Dark Blue, and Matte Grey colour options.
There is a very basic 2-megapixel camera around the back accompanied with an LED flash along with a 3.5mm headphone jack, MicroSD card slot, FM radio. The new version looks a lot sleeker than the original and weighs only 79.6g compared to the originals 133g.
Users won’t be able to access the likes of Facebook and WhatsApp though as there is no Wi-Fi or GPS connectivity, but there is a new version of the iconic Snake game installed.
