Samsung Galaxy S3, Note 2 Android 4.3 update due soon
Later this month Google is expected to release the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system along with some new Nexus hardware to run it on, but in the meantime a number of other flagship smartphones are set to be upgraded to the latest version of Jelly Bean. The Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update is now due to arrive soon.
The two flagship smartphones from last year are owned by millions of users around the world, and both devices will soon benefit to some new features thanks to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. A French mobile carrier has posted an update schedule for the handsets along with the Galaxy S4.
First to see the new OS will be the Galaxy S4 sometime this month before the Galaxy S3 and Note 2 receive the later software in either November or December. The new firmware will bring some minor security enhancements and performance improvements, but a number of features that were launched on the Galaxy S4 are set to arrive on the older hardware.
Currently it is not known which of these features will be arriving as some may be hardware specific but the extra camera options could be included in the update. Like any Android update though certain carriers around the world can hold the software up and unlocked versions of the handsets could see the update first.
