Samsung Galaxy S3, Note 2 Android 4.4 update promised

If you are the owner of the Samsung Galaxy S3 or Galaxy Note 2 we have some good news for you today, as the Android 4.4 KitKat update has been promised to be coming by sources close to the company.

The Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 have both been with us for about a year now or longer if you purchased the S3 when it was first released, and both handsets are still available to purchase around the world and are due to receive the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update in the coming weeks.

There is some good news though regarding the smartphones as sometime next year the Android 4.4 KitKat update is set to arrive for both devices. This information comes via a leaked internal document for the Samsung KNOX security suite, which highlights that both handsets will receive the feature, and it will come with Android 4.4.

This is unlikely to happen until next year though and will probably be the last major operating system update that both devices will receive, which started life on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. It has to be remembered though that with any Android update features and the release can be delayed or changed by the various carriers around the world.
