Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge launched officially
As promised Samsung has launched the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge officially and some of the specifications are going to please fans of the company.
The first Unpacked event of 2016 is currently taking place with the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge being showcased with some great new features added to the lineup. Back is expandable storage along with IP68 dust and waterproofing.
The rear camera has seemingly got worse compared to last year as it now has a 12mp unit, but this year the camera has a large F1.7 aperture along with bigger pixels. The company provided some examples of low light imagery alongside the iPhone 6S with the S7 images being a lot sharper and clearer.
Other features include a Quad HD 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display powered by an all new Quad core processor that is claimed to be around 30% more powerful than the S6. This is paired with 4GB of RAM running the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
The display now features an always on feature for easy viewing of notifications while the S7 now features a 3,000mAh battery, while the S7 Edge has a 3,600mAh power plant. The S7 Edge now uses a 5.5-inch Quad HD display.
Both handsets go up for pre-order on February 24th with availability begining March 11th and should cost around the same as the S6 and S6 Edge when they first became available.
