Sony Xperia Z4 quietly unveiled, doesn’t inspire

The Android smartphone market is extremely competitive with a huge number of devices to choose from, and now the Sony Xperia Z4 has been quietly unveiled but the handset doesn’t really inspire.

Already this year we have seen both Samsung and HTC officially announce their new flagships for 2015, and Sony has today joined the fray by announcing the Xperia Z4 in Japan. The new handset looks pretty similar to last year’s model and features the same 5.2-inch 1080p display.

Sony has decided to use the speaker positioning of the Xperia Z2 while other specs of the Z4 include the Octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Internal storage is 32GB expandable via microSD card, while on the back is 20.7-megapixel camera.

Around the front is a 5.1-megapixel shooter with a 25mm wide angle lens while a 2,930mAh battery is supplying the juice, and the Z4 will come sporting Android 5.0 Lollipop. Sony has stated the handset will be released during the summer in Japan but so far haven’t mentioned an exact date or mentioned availability elsewhere.

It will also be available in Black, White, Copper, and Aqua Green colour options.
