UK Motorola Razr i Android JB 4.1.2 update released
The Android platform can often see new hardware being released that isn’t running the latest version of the operating system, or can be launched just as its being made available. The Motorola Razr i was released last year that uses an Intel based processor, and now UK owners can update the device to the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS after it was released.
When the handset was released last year it came with the Ice Cream Sandwich OS on board, but now for UK residents at least the handset is getting a taste of arguably the best version of the firmware so far, Jelly Bean.
The update is being released in a phased rollout and if you have yet to receive a notification of its availability you can always check manually. This is achieved by selecting the settings option on the smartphone before choosing About phone and then software updates.
It’s best if you try this while using a Wi-Fi connection as the update is being pushed out via an Over-the-Air update. Once downloaded and installed users are treated to things such as Google Now, improved notifications, and a smoother UI thanks to Project Butter. Before starting the process you are advised to have a fully charged battery and back up all of your personal data.
Have you received Jelly Bean yet on your Razr i?
