Unlocked Galaxy S3 to receive Jelly Bean update soon

If you are a resident in the UK and own the Samsung Galaxy S3, depending on what carrier you are a customer of you may have already received the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update. Unfortunately owners of SIM free or unlocked models have been left twiddling their thumbs waiting for news of the new software, but it seems you should have the update soon according to reports.

Owners of the Galaxy S3 on Three, Vodafone, and O2 have in the last couple of days been receiving the Android Jelly Bean update, but unbranded owners have been left wondering when they will get the update. While the O2 release was temporarily halted on Friday, so far there have been no reported problems with the new software.

Now according to the Christian Post the software should begin hitting unlocked versions of the handset at the beginning of next month. Samsung will be checking that the new software works as it should on all the various carriers in the country before releasing it for SIM free models, so they know for sure there will be no problems.

Has your Galaxy S3 received Jelly Bean yet?
